Just launched your WebAR experience? Congratulations! Releasing your first WebAR experience is a significant milestone and testament to your expertise in WebAR. But before you pop the champagne, let’s make sure your project doesn’t just exist but reaches a wide audience by making sure your featured project page really shines. 

Here’s a few tips and tricks for optimizing your featured project page: 

1. Choose a captivating cover image: 
Your cover image isn’t just a task on your way to pressing publish; it’s the first impression of your project. Opt for a design that encapsulates the core of your project while still piquing curiosity. Like a movie trailer, it should give the audience an idea of what they’ll experience without giving everything away. And keep in mind, this image could be featured on 8th Wall’s homepage, social media, share cards, and even in email campaigns so choose wisely! 


2. Craft a concise project title: 
The right title is concise yet descriptive. Aim to provide a snapshot of the experience in under 60 characters. A succinct title is more memorable and can immediately convey the idea of your project to potential viewers. Focus on what users will experience in the project and how they will interact with the experience. For example, consider highlighting in your title or subtitle:  

At the end of September, we launched our first one-week contest challenging developers to create a Halloween-themed GenAI experience. The contest offered $500 and a feature on the 8th Wall homepage. 

In August, we launched an exciting collaboration challenge with Ingress challenging developers to create immersive multiplayer Shared AR experiences! This challenge helped developers learn how to build with Shared AR, foster connections with fellow developers and the 8th Wall team, and compete for prizes worth over $10,000.

We are thrilled to introduce a fresh challenge to the 8th Wall community! During the month of August, we invite you to create Shared AR for Web using Ingress, Niantic’s very first IP game, for a chance to win prizes worth over $10K! 

Last month, we launched a private invite-only Modules challenge, inviting 8th Wall developers to build unique and highly usable Modules. This challenge helped developers build their own Modules, foster connections with fellow developers and the 8th Wall team, and compete for prizes worth over $10,000.

This challenge helped developers delve into new possibilities of VPS for Web, foster connections with fellow developers and the 8th Wall team, and compete for prizes worth over $20,000.

It changed the way developers create and deploy WebAR experiences by seamlessly bridging the gap between various devices using the mobile browser. And today, we're thrilled to share the enhancements we've made to our engine, propelling Metaversal Deployment to new heights of performance and versatility.

We're excited to announce that Niantic 8th Wall now supports Japanese, allowing developers in Japan to create AR experiences in their native language. Marketing pages, XR Home, and documentation sections are all available in Japanese, making it easier than ever for Japanese developers to create engaging and culturally relevant AR experiences for Japanese audiences. To experience Niantic 8th Wall in Japanese, developers simply need to turn on the language setting in their browser.

Calling all AR enthusiasts! 

We are excited to announce the continuation of the Niantic Developer World Tour. Earlier this year, we visited Miami and Austin. This May 2023, we are coming to London and Amsterdam with more locations in Europe coming up soon! Hosted by 8th Wall and led by our partners and community leaders, we welcome all AR enthusiasts to attend our “Hello 8th Wall” workshop. This is a half-day event dedicated to developers, creators, artists, storytellers and all AR enthusiasts to become more familiar with the 8th Wall WebAR platform.
