To celebrate Pride Month this year, T-Mobile created a nationwide in-store augmented reality experience that features a variety of Pride icons. The experience, which is part of the company’s larger #UnstoppableTogether campaign, aims to shine a spotlight on the LGBTQ+ community.
Users access the augmented reality experience by scanning QR’s code found on various posters in T-Mobile stores across the nation. Once scanned, a beautiful rainbow appears with a message from T-Mobile that reads “Happy Pride Month”. Next, users are asked to choose a Pride icon and place it in their physical space. Users can choose between six icons including a unicorn, a rainbow, a Pride flag, hearts, a T-Mobile Pride logo and the words love stacked on top of each other. Once the icon is chosen, users can snap a photo and share it with their friends for Pride Month.
Created by Symmetry Labs in collaboration with Wongdoody, this web-based augmented experience is powered by 8th Wall’s World Tracking technology. As this experience is accessible in the browser, no app is required.
